Dear Friends,

2009 marks the 7th year of the TRENZA Alumni Scholarship Fund.  In 2002 friends and family of Teresa Navarrete came together with TRENZA to begin to fulfill the promise to continue her quest of creating a better future in education. 

In our own humble way, this scholarship in honor of our beloved Tere has grown both in scope and magnitude.  Yet, the challenge to gain educational access equality has abruptly intensified in the last few years lengthening the gap between qualified minority students and access to graduate education. 

Although recent setbacks in our educational system are closing doors to the next generation of educators, TRENZA has remained steadfast in it’s commitment to continue Teresa’s enduring legacy of bringing educational access to those in most need.
